The Current Story: (8-18-7)(I know, it's been forever since I updated last)
Again things change so fast, and in a major way. Uryll, Aurora's daughter by Brynn had gone even More nutzo. In her bid to destroy as many "evil" gods (which in her eyes was pretty much all of them) she had managed to strip both the Orb of Entropy from the trio of Aurora/Clone/Megan and the Orb of Time from Brimstone; leaving our mutant tribe ever so crippled. BS was as weak as Megan was when she was ejected from her orb. Clone went missing. And Aurora? Well she seemed to had been regressed to the body of a 6 year old child..
No one ever knew that Aurora had a master plan. Heck that she had Any plan. Without telling a soul, she dissapeared.
There were enough problems on the homefront to keep Drac from hunting Aurora down immediately. Sensing that Tim's soul was slowly being consumed by his sword Vanagald, Dracon brought forth the possibility of having to move the Rex's soul into another vessel. Pretty much everyone objected; remebering the damage he inflicted (albeit because his son Tristan was driving his body at the time, having broken free of Tim's mental control) Aurora flung her political weight around behind the scenes, making each of the mutant's relent to the idea. With much trepetation and a lot of magical seals in place; Dracon and his Vashtalian spellweavers transfered the Rex's body into a samll crystaline dragon-shaped golem. Only when he proved himslef to be no longer being controlled by his son did htye remove the mental blocks that allowed him to read an maniplate minds.
Surprizingly, the Rex behaved himself, and more or less took his change of venue in stride. In fact, he seemed more interested in courting the spell weaving visitor Celeste than chasing after Aurora; but given the threat of Uryll with two Orbs and several dimensional anomalies, he opted to help Drac find their missing mutant.
That's when everything fell into place, nearly by the second.
Using a combination of sorcery and science, Tim was able to track the missing mutant. Bringing a whole hunting party with him, they emerged to find only Aurora's arm, with Drac's tracking bracelet still attached. Almost immediately behind them came Uryll, whom had been tracking Tim, waiting for him to find Aurora. Following her came Meli, whom had waited for All the players to emerge so that she could take Uryll down.
But it was Aurora whom beat them all to the punch. Using Tim as the bait to draw Uryll out, she emerged behind the insane godling ifrit and stabbed her through the back with Defender. The magical sentient blade infected with her bloodline sucked all the Orb energy, rerouting it all back to their original owners, whom Aurora had picked up in tow; for she had gone back to the rest of the Sphere bearers (swallowing a lot of pride in the process) to get enough energy to back her plan.
Essenstially she doulbe loaded on power conduits. Combined in her body was not only Clone, but her husband Estor ( the old energy bearer), her son Teclis (the current energy bearer; Juipter (the old bearer of Time and Estor's brother?) Justin (the soon-to-be new bearer of time), Clone (the new bearer of Entropy, at least until Uryll stole it from her), Dusk ( Tim's daughter whom had been found in a husk like state, a result of trying to fix the now deceased Zelgadis) whom had carried the sword Defender, the absconded Brimstone (stolen from the infirmary at the last minute) and for that added edge, the Orb bearer of the Mind; for it was going to take a great mind to hold them all together.
When the swrod plunged into Uryll, the hold was chattered and they splintered back inot their individual selves. The resulting blast shook loose Estor and Teclis, losing them somehwere. Brimstone found himself back to normal, the surge restting his systems, turning him back into the same old mutant sans Time distortions. But Aurora was still stuck in the body of a child. Not too bad since she thought she would end up dead in the process.
Once devoid of ther powers, Uryll found herself under attack by Meli; then by Clone as she tried to draw Defender back out of Uryll's body. In the end it was Megan, whom had to climb out of her ADA battlesuit, to free the swrod and allow Meli the killing blow; though Megan deeply believes it was her fault that Uryll was now dead.
And Megan still was in a weakened state, since she was not in the combined party that had delivered the killing stroke.
So in the aftermath things have settled to a dull roar. Aurora is reliving her second childhood. Tim is spending time chasing the goddess Celeste that had help in tracking down Uryll.
Brimstone, though physically whole, pines away for Meli; whom seemed changed by her encounter with Uryll; becoming more aloof than normal. BS still has his own fanbase. Lynara, the wood nymph Pandor; dotes on him, having moved into his room and stealing his pillows. Brimstone is oblivious to her growing devotion.
The children of the mutants have moved on with thier own lives. Junior, Megan's only son; has continued his tutelage with Morgaine; and taken his cousin Toby to heart; the duo training to be heroes of the universe; honing both fighting and mental skills.
Emma has married Theomund; but with her husband at sea, has gone back to Wrothwind to continue her training in the ashtalian army. She now has a stalker, Nyssa; that has discovered her secrets. What he plans to do with this knowledge is yet to be seen.
Jason and Lilka are engaged, Jason continuing his studies as a Scout at the Sayalin Academy.
Now there is a new threat on the horizon. Megan's original Soothsyaer Sara has suddenly appeared, bringing the dreadful news that there is another unmarked Event on the horizon; an energy blast so strong it rends both space and time.
What remainds to be seen is if and how our merry band can stop it.
